“Unwavering commitment” and “selfless support” were two of the terms used to refer to long-time Highland Falls resident Eileen Searles at last week’s Town Board meeting. Searles was on hand to receive ‘life membership’ designation in the Town of Highlands Ambulance Corps – she’s been a member for more than 15 years, but was preparing to move to the state of Oklahoma. Supervisor Bob Livsey and THAC Captain Jeff Gathers spoke about Searles’ dedication to the ambulance corps, noting her recent roles as treasurer and coordinator of events like the annual Fall Foliage Festival. Livsey also took a moment to sing the praises of all local first responders, saying “they truly do give their life” to the community.
