Albert E. “Eddie” Monroe, II, of New Windsor, NY, passed away on August 28, 2024, at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh, NY. He was 66 years old. The son of the late Cecilia (Rella) and Albert E. Monroe, he was born in Cornwall, NY, on May 12, 1958.

Eddie was a passionate supporter of Donald Trump, urging everyone he met to vote for him in the upcoming election and to “fight, fight, fight” to take our country back. He was also a lifelong Mets fan who watched every game. Eddie will be remembered as the best poppy to his grandchildren, who will miss him dearly. In addition to being a loving grandfather, he will be remembered as a devoted father who cherished his four children unconditionally and would do anything for them. Eddie worked as a foreman on the Bear Mountain Bridge for the NYS Bridge Authority.

He is survived by his children: Amanda Lamitie and her husband Bradley of Walden, NY, Sarah D’Agostino and her husband Gino of Pleasant Valley, NY, Lawrence Monroe and his wife Jazmyn of Hewitt, WI, and Albert E. Monroe, III, of New Windsor, NY; his brother Freddie Monroe of Highland Falls, NY; his sister Linda Lindsay and her husband Fred of Southington, CT; three grandchildren: Callie, Giuseppina, and Finn; and by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Acts 20:35: “In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

A reception will be held before the visitation from 12-3 p.m. at Highland Falls Fire Department, 9 Mountain Ave, Highland Falls, NY.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. with a Chapel Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at William F. Hogan Funeral Home, 135 Main St., Highland Falls, NY 10928.

Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope, NY.
