Army West Point football placed nine players on Athlon Sports’ preseason 2026 American Athletic Conference teams, led by offensive lineman Brady Small, who also earned preseason fourth-team All-America honors.
Small, a two-time first-team all-conference selection, was named to Athlon Sports’ first-team All-American Athletic Conference offense.
Defensive lineman Jack Bousum joined Small as a first-team all-conference selection after a breakout sophomore season in which he tied for the team lead in both tackles for loss and sacks.
Quarterback Cale Hellums was selected to the second-team offense after starting 10 games in 2025 and rushing for 1,223 yards, becoming just the eighth player in Army history to surpass the 1,200-yard rushing mark in a season.
Offensive lineman Paolo Gennarelli also earned second-team offensive honors after making 11 starts last season.
On defense, defensive lineman Kody Harris-Miller and defensive back Jaydan Mayes were both named second-team selections.
Running back Godspower Nwawuihe received third-team offensive recognition after earning Wasabi Fenway Bowl Offensive MVP honors in 2025, when he scored two touchdowns in the Black Knights’ bowl victory.
Punter James Wagenseller was named a third-team specialist after averaging 43.12 yards per punt last season.
Wide receiver Brady Anderson rounded out Army’s preseason honorees with a fourth-team offensive selection.
The Black Knights open the 2026 season Sept. 5 when they host Bryant at Michie Stadium.
