Four generations get together in Marlboro

Anthony (Tony) Kraiza, Jr., 88, recently held a reunion with family members in Marlboro. He was reunited with daughter Kathy Kraiza Cunningham, her daughter Emily Heide, and Emily’s daughter Otilie Heide. Kathy has lived in Montana since she graduated college and her whole family also lives there.

For one year old Otilie, this was her first time in New York and first time seeing her great-grandfather in person. Daughter Judith reports that her father couldn’t have been happier to meet the fourth generation.

Tony and Elizabeth Lechner Kraiza moved to Marlboro shortly after they were married. Their oldest son is Marlboro Town Justice Michael Kraiza. They were married for 54 years until she died of cancer in 2010. He still lives in the same house.

Tony was an Eagle Scout, and after college, he joined the US Army. His two sons (Mike and Tim) are also Eagle Scouts. “To this day, my father has remained loyal to the Marlboro Boy Scouts Troop #72, and is active on the Eagle Scout review board.”

He also joined the (volunteer) Marlboro Fire Dept, and has remained active in that since he moved to Marlboro. His role in the fire dept is less active than it used to be, but he still does what he can to be an asset to the dept.

Judith reports that her father has always been an active community based man, believing in helping out his neighbors.
