Highland Passive House (HPH) the future headquarters for preeminent home staging/furniture rental company Cathy Hobbs Design Recipes, which once completed will be the first certified multi-use warehouse in North America, will hold its official groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, March 30, at 1 p.m.

Highland Passive House will be a 12,500 square foot building that will encompass a 3,500 office and designer showcase/tv/film production space as well as a 9,000 square foot warehouse. Highland Passive House will be net zero, carbon neutral and PHI (certified passive) through the Passive House Institute in Darmstadt, Germany.

Highland Passive House is among nearly 50 “regionally significant projects” awarded grants through the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) under the Carbon Neutral Community Economic Development program and a groundbreaking “one of a kind” project for the Mid-Hudson/Hudson Valley Region.

Highland Passive House, located in Ulster County-Hudson Valley, will be the first certified multi-use passive warehouse in North America and will achieve carbon neutral and net zero energy status. Easily replicated, the new building will be constructed from prefabricated panels, and will include a public charging location for electric vehicles. The mixed-use building will include warehouse space and flexible office space that will also be used as a tv/film/production space.

The team behind the project includes some of the most celebrated and well respected names in the industry including: Celebrity Interior Designer Cathy Hobbs, World-Renowned Passive House experts Baxt Ingui Architects, Passive House Construction leader, BAXTER Construction, Ecocor Passive Panel Manufacturer and more.
