John Frederick Roff Jr., 84, of Highland, New York passed away peacefully on Friday February 10, 2023, at New Paltz Center.
Born July 26, 1938, in Beacon, New York, he was the son of the late John and Bernice (Frank) Roff Sr.
On February 25, 1967, in Newburgh, New York, he married Lois Adele Hallock. They enjoyed over 43 years together before Lois passed away in 2010.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1959 to 1965. Upon his return, he became a Manager at Seekamp Lumber, in Pine Bush, NY until his retirement in 2009.
John was a devoted member of the Modena fire house for many years. He loved his country music and enjoyed good times spent with family and friends telling jokes and sharing laughter.
Survivors include his devoted daughter, Melissa Lee Roff of Highland, NY; his children, Teresa Mullen and her husband, Ron, Michael Roff, William “Bill” Roff and his wife, Sharon, and Jennifer Roff; seventeen grandchildren, Jessica, Christina, Nicholas, Michael, Anthony, Ashley, Sean, Nicole, Emily, Shawn, Elizabeth, Alexis, Christopher, Stephanie, William “Billy” Jr., George, and Zoe; and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, Lois, John was also predeceased by his son, John Roff, Jr. and his great granddaughter, Somia.
John Frederick Roff Jr. will forever be loved and missed.
A celebration of John’s life will be held in the spring.
