Town of Lloyd Police are investigating a one car fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred at Friday at approximately 2:44 p.m. on Rt. 9W near Cummings Lane in the Town of Lloyd.

The operator of the vehicle was traveling south on Rt. 9W when her vehicle crossed over into the north bound lane and left the roadway striking a tree. The operator, a 40 year old Kingston woman who was the sole occupant was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ulster County Medicals Examiners Office. The accident is still under investigation.

Lloyd Police were assisted at the scene by the New York State Police, Ulster County Sheriffs Office, Highland Fire Department, Mobil Life Ambulance and Ulster County Medical Examiners Office.
