Mary M. McCarthy passed peacefully into eternity on October 26, 2020. She is survived by Joe, her devoted husband of 46 years. She is lovingly remembered by her four children, Jaybill (and his wife Erin), Phred (and his wife Lori), Jeff (and his wife Ingrid) and Kate (and her husband Trevor) and her eight beloved grandchildren.
Mary was a kind, gentle woman who was a wonderful wife, mother and teacher in the Marlboro Public School District. She loved reading and learning. She was a devout Christian, and her faith kept her grounded throughout the last years of her life. She always knew where she was going and felt a quiet joy that she was going home.
A funeral mass will be held at Christ the King Church in New Paltz, NY. In order to maintain Covid-19 health and safety standards, services will be limited to immediate family. A Mary McCarthy Memorial Facebook Group has been set up for sharing memories and condolences and the service will also be available as a livestream there for those who cannot attend physically. A Committal Service will be held in the Spring along with a celebration of Mary’s life (date to be determined).
