Mary Romano, of New Paltz, formerly of Wallkill, entered into rest on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. She was 102.

Daughter of the late Michael and Carmela (Iavarone) Scotto, she was born on May 4, 1919 in Brooklyn, NY.

A longtime area resident, she was a retired seamstress. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church and a member of the Town of Newburgh Senior Citizen’s Club.

Survivors include two sons, Michael (Emily) Romano of Lincroft, NJ and Thomas Romano of Clayton, NC; a daughter, Camille Davidson of Wallkill; one brother, Dominick Scotto of NC; one sister, Anna Servidio of Wallkill; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, George Romano in 1986, and brothers, Louis Scotto and Alfred Scotto.

Private cremation has taken place at Cedar Hill Crematory.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 10 am on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Plattekill with Fr. Michael Omachi officiating.

Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the care of White, Venuto and Morrill Funeral and Cremation Services, Newburgh.
