Nicholas Peter Formichelli, Sr., 76, of Clintondale, New York, passed away on September 28, 2020, surrounded by his loving children.
Nicholas was born on January 25, 1944 in Beacon, NY. He was the third child of the late Nicholas and Concetta Formichelli.
Nicholas served in the Navy from 1962-66, where he worked aboard the nuclear submarine USS Thomas Jefferson (SSBN-618).
He worked at IBM in Poughkeepsie for 25 years, then as a correctional officer at Wallkill Correctional Facility for 25 years, retiring in 2019.
He married Camille Plaza on May 13, 1967, and they had three children: Melissa, Nicholas, Jr., and Mark. Nicholas has four grandchildren: Nicolena, Amber, Camille, and Ava. He is survived by his three brothers, Joseph, Michael, and Anthony, as well as his children Melissa and Mark. Nicholas had a sharp wit and a tremendous sense of humor, and was always known as a bright personality and a practical joker. He was devoted to his family and friends, and will be greatly missed by all who came to know him.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, October 3 at Highland Cemetery.
