Non-residents asked to pay to park

Posted

In August of 2020, the Town of Lloyd Town Board passed a resolution approving Pay to Park for non-resident vehicle parking along certain points of Haviland Road and the parking lots located at 75 and 100 Haviland Road.

It takes considerable funds from the Town to maintain and improve the Rail Trail, road and parking lots and currently the taxpayers are funding the upkeep and improvements of these.

Town of Lloyd property taxpayers and residents will be exempt from these fees. All revenues received from these paid parking fees/fines will be deposited into the Hudson Valley Rail Trail Reserve Fund and will be maintained by the Town of Lloyd. These monies will be used to maintain the Hudson Valley Rail Trail, its amenities and parking areas.

Town residents and property tax payers will be able to register their vehicle(s) with the Town Clerk to exempt them from Pay to Park. To register you will need to provide your vehicle registration and a utility bill, property tax bill or other document showing your name and address.

The first phase of Pay to Park will cover Haviland Road ONLY and will start December 1, 2021.

Non-residents will be able to pay as they go or by a yearly pass for $80 which will be valid November 1 – October 31 of each year.
