Set sail on a thrilling action-packed adventure about a crew of quirky pirates marooned on a desert island! With a mutiny and high tide looming, they must rescue their salty captain and find a way to repair their ship before all hope is lost…at sea!

Talewise: Pirates Lost at Sea is part of the Highland Library’s summer reading program. It will be presented on August 3 in two sessions, 2:30 and 4 p.m. This program is intended for elementary-age children and tweens. Visit highlandlibrary.libcal.com to register.
The pre-school painting program, Dress for the Mess, will take place on Thursday, July 28, 2-3 p.m. Registration is required. Visit highlandlibrary.libcal.com to register.

Curbside Crafts
For ages 8-12. Curbside: 3D SeahorseCraft Kits  are available to be picked up through our curbside service or by stopping in all week long until Saturday, July 30. There are only 10 kits available for the week.  The kit includes templates and instructions. Registration is required.

Create A Pirate Paper Bag Puppet. Registration is required.  Pirate Paper Bag Puppet kits are available through our curbside service until Saturday, July 30. Kits are limited to 12  and registration is required. Please register each child who will be getting a kit. We will have a craft themed book for you to check out if you choose. The book will be checked out to you and will be due in 3 weeks.

Crafts need to be picked up within week of craft.
Pictures of crafts made are encouraged.

In keeping with the new CDC guidelines, masks will no longer be required in the library, however it is strongly recommend that masks  be worn in the children’s area.  Ulster County is  currently a MEDIUM risk according to metrics used by the CDC and we will continue to monitor the guidelines and make necessary adjustments as we have throughout this Pandemic. Social distance policy remains in effect for programs.

The Highland Library is located at 14 Elting Place. Hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, 12-7 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
