The Valley Central School District will be ready to open its door on the first day of school on Friday, September 2. During the Board Meeting on Monday, August 22, district officials and Bill Devine of The Palombo Group discussed the work that has been underway over the summer at the middle school and high school complex.

As of the meeting, Devine said projects in the big parking lot were completed minus asphalt striping, site lighting and poles being installed. Construction is still on track to finish the large parking lot on schedule. The smaller parking lot is slightly behind schedule with concrete curbs around an island being installed and the curbs at the entrance.

In the pool area, work for the summer was mostly completed with ceilings being completed shortly as of the day of the meeting. Additional work in the pool area will take place in February. Over in the auditorium, a handicap accessible chair lift was excepted to be installed in the coming days.

Around the side of the building at the concession building, engineers are trying to determine a new route for underground utilities. The building has been demoed and they are starting to dig new footings.
