Arlene Reynolds passed away on January 8, 2019. She was 76.
She was born on January 28, 1942 to Phillip and Ann Whalen in Astoria NY. She married her childhood sweetheart Richard Reynolds on August 21, 1961.

They raised 3 children, sons Richard Jr , Brian and daughter Coleen McGrath. They moved to Newburgh NY in the early 70’s where Arlene worked in the Newburgh school district for several years. She later retired as a bookkeeper for West Ceramics.

She enjoyed traveling with her daughter and friends. She loved to go to movies, attend a Broadway show and just being in the company of a friend out for dinner. when she was out she would always engage with any people she came in contact with and many times would leave as their friend.

Arlene attended of Grace Community Church in Washingtonville and Newburgh. She truly loved her grace family. When she walked through the door she knew she was home.

Arlene was totally dedicated to her children and three grandchildren in all aspects of their lives.

She was one of the kindest people you could ever meet with her warm heart and spirit. She opened the door to whoever knocked. Whether it was for support in a difficult time, a cup of coffee or a grilled cheese sandwich. Many gathered over the years at her kitchen table for her friendly talks, advice, a good laugh over a hot meal. She was always only a phone call away for anyone who needed a helping hand or just an ear to listen.

She will be remembered for her fun loving nature, her kind and generous heart and her loving presence.

Our family would like to acknowledge the help of her amazing support team, friends, Lila, Michelle, Nancy, Bruce, Laura, Lisa, Linda, Ruthie, uncle jimmy and carmella among others. We would also like to thank hospice of Orange County, especially Melissa, Maria, jasmine, Catherine, Sister Ann, Gemma and many more.

Arlene is survived by her husband Richard Reynolds, her sons Richard Jr, Brian, and daughter Coleen McGrath, grandsons John McGrath and his wife Rosie, Cory McGrath and Richard Reynolds III, brother Robert Maduske, several cousins, nieces and nephews and many good friends.
