Charles Carmine Giarrizzo, Sr., of Wallkill, peacefully passed away with his loving family by his side on Monday, March 14, 2022. He was 80 years of age.

Son of the late Egnazio and Domenica (LoPresti) Giarrizzo, he was born July 16, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY.

“Charlie” as he was known to many was a longtime area resident and the retired owner/operator of A-1 Appliance Service in Newburgh. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard as an expert marksman and was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh, NY. He coached basketball, loved to travel, play board games, and cook for his family. He loved to hunt, fish, and enjoyed the peacefulness of the outdoors. You could often find him “tinkering” by his workbench. Family was and always will be in his heart and soul. He is considered to be the patriarch of his large Italian family.

Survivors include the love of his life and wife of 59 years, Linda (Kastenbein) Giarrizzo, a son, Charles C. (Meryl) Giarrizzo, Jr.; two daughters, Jodi (Jason) Gillespie, and Andrea (Paul) Marvulli, all of Wallkill; three grandchildren, Adriana, Vincent, Charles, III (Chase) and one on the way; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh. Burial wasat St. Charles Cemetery, 2212 US-44-55, Gardiner, NY.
