The City of Newburgh will host a flag raising ceremony on Saturday, June 1st to usher in the beginning of Pride Month, and to recognize and celebrate the central role of LGBTQ+ Americans in shaping and strengthening our nation.
The Philadelphia Pride Flag was designed in 2017 to add black and brown stripes to the original six-stripe rainbow pride flag in order to provide proper representation to queer and trans black and indigenous people of color. The original Pride Flag was created by Gilbert Baker in 1978.
The flag raising ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 1st at 1:00 p.m., at Unico Park on Front Street, along the Newburgh Waterfront.
