Why? Because they’re likely to turn up running cross country for Cornwall Central High School in the years ahead! The 13 young runners all took part in Monday’s 35th annual Fun Run, hosted by the CCHS Cross Country team and their coach Dave Feuer. The races, for kindergarten through sixth graders, got longer in length as the children got older, and all the young runners were cheered on by members of the cross country team, who had just finished an early morning practice. Those students also worked as timers and recorders of scores, headed up by Senior Sophia Semo.
The whole thing took just under an hour from start to finish, although, as the last group ran, Coach Feuer joked that up next was the parent and grandparent race, and it would be 800 meters. That drew many laughs, and no participants.
