Gardiner Library hosts Italian Conversational Zoom Classes starting Wednesday January 19, 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. This weekly class is designed for people who have some knowledge of the Italian language and would like to improve their conversational skills. Dr. Ornella Lepri Mazzuca is a native speaker of Italian and has been facilitating the conversational class at the Gardiner Library since 2016. She graduated from the University of Urbino, Italy, with a Doctorate in English, French and Italian. She later earned an MA in Spanish and Linguistics and a PhD in Spanish Literature from the University at Albany. Register online at www.gardinerlibrary.org

Learn to make a Lotus Lantern
Gardiner Library hosts Lotus Lantern Making Virtual Workshop on Sunday January 23, 4-5 p.m.

Ages 10+ learn how to make a lovely lotus flower lantern using a wire frame and colored paper in this step-by-step class with a member of the Korean Spirit and Culture Promotion Project.
Watch a short documentary film about Korean culture. $5 material fee per kit. Spaces are limited. Register through the online calendar at www.gardinerlibrary.org. Kits are available for pick up at the library.

Gardiner Ink! meets Sunday
Gardiner Library presents Gardiner Ink! Young Adult Creative Writing and Visual Art Meet Up. Meets the 4th Sunday of each month at 2 p.m. through April 24.

Come showcase your creative writing and artwork in Gardiner Library’s yearly publication. Prompts, tips and writing and art share during monthly meetings. Help Wanted for the new Gardiner Ink! Art Department. Artists will have the opportunity to design work that enhances the literature as well as create independent pieces. Come be part of the design and editing process. Currently accepting submissions of original poetry, fiction, and art. Original works of visual art can include paintings, drawings, and photography. Register online at www.gardinerlibrary.org.
