Gardiner Library presents a Summer Herbal Series for budding herbalists and seasoned medicine makers. Join Ashley Sapir Lathrop, a practicing herbalist for over 20 years and owner of Dreamkeeper Botanicals, on Wednesday, July 20 and August 17, 6:30 - 8 p.m.

This two-part series begins outdoors to identify some local plants. In Part One learn the benefits of specific plants for the season including some of Ashley’s favorite summer plants for staying cool, calm and grounded. Create a cooling herbal tea blend (infusion) and an herbal oil to take home. Part Two consists of learning about specific plants that bolster the immune and nervous systems as we move into the fall/winter.

Make a salve with the oil made in Part One and a warming adaptogenic blend (decoction) to take home.

Recommended, but not necessary, to sign up for both classes. Registration is required on the online calendar at www.gardinerlibrary.org The library is located at 133 Farmer’s Turnpike in Gardiner.
