The Highland girls’ lacrosse team were eliminated from the Section 9 Class D semifinals on May 23, suffering a 17-11 loss to the Red Hook Raiders.
The third-seeded Huskies trialed the Raiders by eight points at halftime (11-3). They outscored the raiders 8-6 in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to mount a comeback.
Yianna Giannoulis had eight goals and an assist for the Raiders who moved on to face top-seeded James I. O’Neill in Thursday’s championship game. Stasia Giannoulis had three goals and three assists.
