John Joseph DiMartino of Montgomery, passed away Saturday January 7, 2023 at 76 years old. He was one of four children born to Ralph and Mary DiMartino in Brooklyn, NY in 1946. John graduated from Valley Central High School in 1965 and proudly served his country afterward in the National Guard.

He is predeceased by his father Ralph, his mother Mary and brother Ralph.

Respectfully known as Mr. D, John’s love of life was as infectious as his laugh. His greatest joys in life were family, food, and golf. A businessman at heart, John distributed Coca Cola for 15 years and also ran the Sled Shed. He then went on to own P & J’s Service center in Montgomery with his wife Peggy until 1988 when he took ownership of Scotts Corners Golf Course.

To John, running the golf course for 35+ years never felt like work because of the level of passion he had for the job. In the summer you could find him golfing or riding his Harley, and in the fall he was hunting. In the winter you could find him in Palm Coast fishing on his dock, playing golf, or playing cards on the back patio with his children and grandchildren.

John is survived and missed by his loving wife Peggy of 54 years and his four children, John (Christine), Vincent (Melissa), Joseph and Amy. He will be forever cherished and remembered by his eight grandchildren, Kendra(James), Anthony, Jake, Johnny, Vanessa, Ava, Bella, and Vincent. His memory will live on with his great grandchildren Adeline, James, Mason, Weston, and Aurora. He will never be forgotten by his brother Joseph, sister Joanna and nieces and nephews as well.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 10th, 2023, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St. Walden
