The Town of Highlands United Youth group has booked a bus to go to Stewart Airport on Saturday, April 12 for the evening’s ‘Welcome Home’ for that day’s Hudson Valley Honor Flight Mission #35.

“We welcome the community to help us give the veterans the welcome home they deserve,” a flyer for the event said. “And, let’s cheer on our own O’Neill High School student guardian, Sam Bourne, as he returns from Washington DC on the flight.”

There are limited seats (44) on the bus, so you must register to attend at form.jotform.com/250955734637164. For more information, call Sallie Dorsch at 845-521-5364. The bus will leave Highland Falls (from the municipal parking lot across from Sacred Heart Church) at 7 p.m. and will return about 10 p.m. It is free. While children are welcome, anyone intermediate school age or younger must have a parent/guardian with them.

Those participating are encouraged to make ‘welcome home’ signs to bring. Donations toward the cost of the bus will be gladly appreciated. O’Neill High School’s JROTC program is also sending a bus of students for the same ‘Welcome Home’ event.
