Karl E. Doderer

Town of Newburgh

Posted

Karl E. Doderer was born and raised in the Town of Newburgh and entered into rest suddenly on Friday March 29, 2024. He was 49 years old.

Son of Eleanor (Flanagan) Doderer and the late Carl H. Doderer he was born November 29, 1974 in Newburgh, NY.

Karl was a Senior Maintenance worker with the Water Department for the Town of Newburgh and a tattoo artist at Millennium Tattoo for more than 20 years. He was a hard working and dedicated family man, his girls being the light of his life. From flying kites to building Legos, he always made time for them. An artist of many mediums and an avid collector of vintage toys, he enjoyed spending time at flea markets crafting relationships with the vendors who greeted him as an old friend…often holding aside the best pieces or ones they knew he needed to complete a series to give him first dibs. He loved the outdoors and went camping several times a year with his fishing gear and kayak in tow. He was proud of his garden, growing tomatoes, cucumbers, and peas to share with family and friends. Karl was also passionate about animals, especially his “dumpster kitties”, having rescued many through the years. He leaves behind two at home, Mimzy and Shmoo as well as the dog he swore he’d never get but begrudgingly held great affection for, our corgi Bo. Having a large social network, Karl was loved by many and will be missed by all.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn (Truocchio) Doderer, two daughters, Sydney Nicole and Hanna Belle, his mother Eleanor and one brother, Harold all of the Town of Newburgh; as well as many loving aunts and uncles, several beloved nieces and nephews; close cousins from Michigan and New York and his lifelong friends Ben Smith and Omar Free of Newburgh.

Visitation for family and friends will be 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2024, at White, Venuto and Morrill Funeral and Cremation Service. A Funeral Service will follow at 6:00 pm at the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Karl’s name can be made to the Hudson Valley SPCA, 940 Little Britain Road, New Windsor, 12553.
