We still can’t believe you’re gone. Melissa Christine Krawiec-Curtis, born September 29th 1977 of Wallkill, NY passed away peacefully at her home on May 12th. Survived by the best son in the world, Liam Curtis (father Scott Curtis of Middletown,N.Y.), Melissa was daughter to Rita Napoli and George Krawiec and wife Debby, big sister to Michael Krawiec, niece of Renee Jurgensen, cousin of Scott Jurgensen, and a friendly caring presence to all of those whose lives she touched.
She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Sal and Jeanette Napoli and paternal grandparents George and Kathleen Krawiec.
During her life, Melissa accumulated many notable achievements. She graduated as a registered nurse from Orange County Nursing School, as well as completing chef training at the Sullivan County Culinary School. Melissa always enjoyed cooking meals for those she cared about, although perhaps enjoyed cleaning up after those meals slightly less. She also showed an adoring fondness for her plants, which she called her “little babies.” Melissa always displayed a creative disposition, as illustrated (very literally) by her tattoos, which she loved. She also harnessed this creative energy to become a brilliant writer in her own right. Her family and friends will miss her sunflower smile. We’ll always picture you in that sun, and we’ll see the best of you in your son. You’ll be in our hearts and we’ll carry you with us forever. We hope you're resting quietly now, see you in our dreams. Good, Goodnight Sweet Melissa.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the “Children’s Butterfly Fund” (butterfly-children-fund.square.site/ which helps children with the same disease which both she and Liam entered this world with.
