Multi-family project back before town planning board

The Town of Newburgh Planning Board voted to host a public scoping session, as part of the State Environmental Quality Review Act [SEQR] process, for the project known as the Enclave at their meeting on Thursday, April 20. The decision took place during the board’s regular meeting on Thursday, March 16.

The Enclave was represented by J&G Law, LLP and was being undertaken by Engineering and Surveying Properties. Comments and recommendations from various town consultants have been received by the applicant and the applicant had no problem with including those comments into the draft scope for review. The newly proposed residential development was previously reported as a 246 unit multi-family residential development project with 17 individual structures. The proposed access point to the main site would be off of Route 300, crossing the Quassaick Creek with emergency access from Circle Lane. A clubhouse facility, a pool and playground area were also proposed at the site. No senior density bonus is proposed for this project.

Planning Board Attorney Dominic Cordisco recommended for consideration that the applicant review and revise the scoping documents and provide concept plans prior to the release of any public notices. The applicant was seeking to have those documents ready by the end of the following week.
