New Windsor and Kiryas Joel water discussions

New Windsor Town Board received and filed the long term maintenance agreement between the town and Village of Kiryas Joel that will provide maintenance and protection to New Windsor water infrastructure and properties along Riley Road. The agreement is set to last two years following the Kiryas Joel’s water main installation.

The Village of Kiryas Joel is in the process of constructing a new raw water main that will share an anticipated tap with New Windsor. The new tap will connect Kiryas Joel to the Catskill Aqueduct to draw water. Current construction continues on New York State Route 32 with water main materials situated at the water plant on Riley Road. Kiryas Joel is looking to continue construction without interfering with the Five Corners Intersection. The final route has not been determined but is in discussion.

Supervisor George Meyers will look to see that proper signage is available on each end of Riley Road and that one lane of the road will be open during construction when it starts.
