Ann Street Gallery is excited to announce the development of an Open Reading Room within our Gallery. The Open Reading Room is a dedicated space focused on artist books & ephemera, art books, and other cultural media. The Open Reading Room will be accessible and free to the public for open reading of its collection whenever the Gallery is open.
Objects for Reading will be the first exhibition to celebrate the opening of the Open Reading Room at Ann Street Gallery in Spring 2022. This exhibition will showcase works by local (Newburgh, HV, and NY) artists/designers designed for reading. The Objects for Reading will be on display for 6-8 weeks in the exhibition, then permanently move to the Open Reading Room. The Objects for Reading, conceived as artworks in their own right, will additionally be utilized for public interface in the Open Reading Room where they will not only be exhibited, but engaged and interacted with in the act of reading.
This exhibit will be on view through May 20, 2022.
