Orange County hosts Naturalization ceremony in Newburgh

Orange County Clerk Kelly Eskew hosted a Naturalization ceremony on Wednesday, April 13 at the Newburgh Armory Unity Center.

Inaudy Esposito, Executive Director of the County’s Human Rights Commission, served as the keynote speaker. Esposito is a native of the Dominican Republic and a naturalized United States Citizen. Orange County Surrogate Judge Tim McElDuff presided over the ceremony and Deputy County Executive Harry Porr also attended the event.

Approximately 50 people from 22 countries took the Oath of Allegiance, the final part of the naturalization process, renouncing all foreign allegiance while pledging to support and defend the American Constitution and the laws of the United States.

“Recognizing the accomplishment of these new citizens and welcoming them to this great country was a wonderful experience,” Eskew said. “Every new citizen at the ceremony worked hard to make this day a reality. I was honored to share some words and welcome all of them to our country.”
