PB board approves three capital improvement projects

The Pine Bush Central School Board of Education approved contracts for three capital improvement projects at a brief special March 2 virtual meeting, which replaced the February 28 meeting that was postponed due to the snow storm.

The board unanimously approved contracts for two turf fields for $6,187,000; sports lighting at the two turf fields for $855,222; and a parking lot for $269,658. All projects are at the Pine Bush Senior High School.

FieldTurf, a Tarkett Sports Company, will install the turf fields. Smith Site Development will install the parking lot. Musco Sports Lighting will install the lighting.

The board will discuss allowing tax exemptions for emergency workers at its next meeting at 7 p.m., March 14, at Pine Bush High School.

Residents of the Pine Bush Central School District who would like to run for a seat on the board of education may download the petition packet or pick up a packet at the district office. The packet explains the process of running for the school board. The Orange County School Boards Association will host a free workshop for prospective school board members, in person at Orange Ulster BOCES in Goshen on March 11 and virtually on March 21.
