Pine Bush Lions Club hosts 30th annual Harvest Festival

For the past 30 years, the Pine Bush Lions Club has welcomed the autumn season with its Harvest Festival, an annual community gathering that gives attendants a taste of the hamlet. This year was no exception as hundreds of Crawford residents and visitors congregated on Main Street last Saturday, September 21 to enjoy the event’s various activities and entertainments.

Between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., attendants browsed vendors and farmers market stands, enjoyed a bite or two from food trucks and bake sales, listened to live music, and much more. Several performers lent their talents to the afternoon, including Tom & Tommy Brendal, Vito Petrocitto, The Bluehearts Band, and Prize Fighter.

“I think it’s pretty cool, I like seeing all the different things people make,” said Madelyn, 9, a member of the American Heritage Girls.

“I’m really impressed by the number of crafts and people out here and the variety of skills and talents,” said Richard Reich, a member of the Pine Bush American Legion Post 1308. “You have people working with photography and all sorts of materials.”

Overall, both attendants and organizers had a great time at the festival and relished the afternoon’s offerings and warm weather.

“It’s our first time here and we’re really enjoying it. There are friendly people and good vibes,” said Michelle Felicello, a co-vendor for Sweet to the Core, a gourmet candy apple business from Malboro.

“Everything went smooth for the Lions Club, we got all the vendors in and out. The vendors are happy and we have a nice crowd,” said Steve Decker, a member of the Pine Bush Lions Club.
