On February 8, New York State Police from the Ellenville barracks arrested James A. Grant Jr, age 73, from Pine Bush, for Sex Abuse 1st degree, a felony, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a misdemeanor.

State Police were notified on January 27, 2023, that Grant touched a minor in an inappropriate manner. An investigation revealed that on January 24, 2023, he inappropriately touched a minor under the age of 11.

Grant was arraigned in the Town of Wawarsing Court in front of Judge Dechon. He was released on $5,000 bail and an Order of Protection was issued. He is ordered to return to the Town of Shawangunk Court on February 21, 2023, at 6 p.m.
