The Plattekill Historical Society will host a book talk, “Legacies on the Land: Historic Houses, Hamlets and Landscapes of Southern Ulster County,” on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 1 p.m. at Plattekill Grange Hall, 127 Church St., Plattekill (Wallkill for GPS purposes).

Vals Osborne, editor and writer of “Legacies,” and Libbie Werlau, a contributing writer and the Plattekill town historian, will discuss the history of homes in Plattekill, Modena, Ardonia and Clintondale, and how those homes and the families who owned them were influenced by the land. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.

The program is free. For more information, call 845-389-7998 or visit plattekillhistoricalsociety.org.
