Long-time Village of Walden building inspector Dean Stickles is coming back to the building department part time this week according to Walden Mayor John Ramos. Previously the village was utilizing village engineers for urgent cases.
Stickles announced his retirement months back and received bittersweet goodbyes at a Walden board of trustees meeting. They haven’t found a replacement since. According to Walden Village Manager John Revella, there is no timeframe of when a permanent building inspector will be hired.
“We currently have a vacancy for [a] full time building inspector. It is a civil service position so we will need to canvas the County list of available candidates,” Revella noted.
The building department was closed from Wednesday, December 28 to Tuesday, January 3 because of holidays and employees being out.
