Local municipalities are preparing to host a variety of summer recreation programs to provide children with active and engaging experiences. The towns of Lloyd, Marlborough and Plattekill will each offer youth camps with a mix of sports, arts, and special events.

Lloyd offers arts and sports camps
The Town of Lloyd will host two “Summer Fun” programs this year: an Arts & Crafts Camp and a Sports Camp.

The Arts & Crafts Camp is open to children who have completed kindergarten through fourth grade and will be held at Berean Park. The Sports Camp, for students in second through seventh grade, will take place at Tony Williams Park and will include football, baseball, basketball and soccer.

Both camps will run from June 30 to Aug. 8, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to noon. Field trips will be held every Friday, supervised by camp counselors.

Registration forms are available on the Town of Lloyd’s website. Forms can be submitted to the Town Clerk’s Office, placed in the drop box at Town Hall, or mailed. Fees are $100 per week for the first child and $75 per week for each additional sibling. The registration deadline is June 20.

For more information, parents can contact Recreation Director Frank Alfonso at 845-399-1569 or through the message board on the town website.

Marlborough Camp to feature weekly themes
Marlborough’s summer camp is open to children ages five (post-kindergarten) through 13. The camp will be held at the Marlborough Town Hall and run Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Each week will feature a special activity such as karate, zumba, Cross Fit, yoga, or face painting. Campers will also enjoy water-based activities daily and bi-weekly events such as ice cream days and scavenger hunts.

Registration requires a completed application form (available on the town website), a birth certificate or passport, report card, recent immunization records, medical records, and payment. Fees are $175 per week for residents and $200 for non-residents.

Questions can be directed to the Recreation Department at 845-795-5100, ext. 2.

Plattekill offers multiple camp sessions
