An 18 year-old Newburgh Free Academy student was the victim of a shooting Monday afternoon.

City Police received a ShotSpotter notification at 5:40 p.m. in the area of 69 South Street in the parking lot of the Varick Homes apartment complex.

The victim was transported to Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital by private vehicle, was admitted and was reported in stable condition on Tuesday afternnon.
