Town approves plan to repair hotel

Posted

The Newburgh Town Board unanimously approved a proposed stipulation and resolution presented by Hudson Valley Hotel and Conference Center owner Asif Javaid and attorney Michael Sussman on the future of the site. The site at 90 Route 17K was deemed unsafe in July and Javaid had appeared on August 18 to offer statements on the town’s determination.

The active hotel complex has one main building serving as the main entry point with a conference center and additional mixed used spaces attached. In the rear is located an L-shaped two story structure with an additional unused pool area.

The stipulation and resolution states that first, the respondents will file an application with the planning board and code compliance offices and within town code, will seek demolition or repair. Completed plans and specifications by a licensed engineer must be submitted by December 2, 2022 and all work and documentation must be completed before or by June 30, 2023.
