The Town of Wallkill Friendly Visitor Program is excited to announce the launch of a new initiative aimed at supporting older residents in Circleville, Howells, Mechanicstown, Pocatello and Scotchtown. The program provides a range of services, including grocery shopping assistance, rides to essential appointments, visits, minor chores, wellness calls, and more. The goal is to help seniors maintain their independence, reduce isolation, and improve their overall quality of life.

The Friendly Visitor Program is seeking volunteers to join the cause and make a difference in their community. Virtual volunteer training sessions have been scheduled for February 28 at 5:30 p.m., March 9 at 10 a.m., and March 21 at 5:30 p.m. To participate, simply call 845-341-1173 ext. 305, email volunteer@jfsorange.org, or sign up on the program’s website.

The Friendly Visitor Program is made possible by grants from Orange and Rockland Utilities, Jewish Federation of Orange County, Jewish Family Service, and The Orange County Office for the Aging. These organizations have come together to help seniors in need and ensure that they have the support and resources they need to live a healthy and happy life.
