Traffic stop leads to weapons arrest in Newburgh

On January 23, 2022 at 12:44 am Officer Jodice and Officer Farrell conducted a traffic stop in the area of 211 Third Street for a New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law infraction.

Officer Jodice interviewed the operator who was identified as Rowan Craigie, a 47 year-old Newburgh resident. Mr. Craigie informed Officer Jodice that there was a gun inside the vehicle and he did not possess a pistol permit. Officers subsequently recovered a 9mm Ruger P95 semi-automatic firearm loaded with 15 rounds.

Craigie was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd and Unlawful Possession of an Ammunition Feeding Device.
