Upcoming activities at the Highland Public Library

In keeping with the new CDC guidelines, masks will be required in the library, Ulster County is  currently a high risk for contracting Covid-19 according to metrics used by the CDC.  We will continue to monitor the guidelines and make necessary adjustments as we have throughout this Pandemic.

Social distance policy remains in effect for programs.
Join the Friends of the Highland Public Library for Touch-a-Truck and Book Sale, which will be held on June 4, from 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Admission is $5 for children ages 2 and over, which includes crafts, face-painting and games. There will be a 50/50 Raffle; 1 ticket for $1, 6 for $5.

You do not need to be present to win.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Highland Public Library. Proceeds benefit the Highland Public Library.

Upcoming curbside crafts:

For ages 8-12. Curbside: Memorial Day Wreath Craft Kits  are available to be picked up through our curbside service or by stopping in all week long until Friday, June 3. There are only 10 kits available for the week.  The kit includes cardboard circle, yarn and instructions. Registration is required.

Create A White Tiger Card. Registration is required. Tiger Card Kits are available through our curbside service until Saturday, May 28. Kits are limited to 10 and registration is required. Please register each child who will be getting a kit.

New to the craft kits are a book that will go with the subject of the craft. Book needs to be returned within 3 weeks from when you checked it out. 

Crafts need to be picked up within the week of the craft.

Highland Library hold a variety of craft programs for all ages.

Crafting With Kids is held on Mondays at 4pm for elementary school age children.

Kids Crafting Corner for children ages 5 - 11 is held on the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m.

Art Adventures for Adults is held on Tuesdays from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Check the Program Calendar for availability.

We work with a variety of mediums; yarn, painting, loom knitting, weaving, soap making, candle making, embroidery, paper crafts and the latest craft techniques.

Stamping for Fun. Join us every month for an adult stamping class. This class we be held on the first Monday of each month, 10:30 a.m. to noon and again from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.  Each month we will make 3 all occasion cards.

The Library is located at 14 Elting Place, Highland.
