USMA to conduct training exercises on March 26

The U.S. Military Academy at West Point will conduct its annual multi-agency force protection exercise on Wednesday, March 26.

Exercise activities will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and may result in the temporary closure of Thayer, Washington, and Stony Lonesome gates. Vehicle traffic in and around the installation may be affected throughout the day. All personnel and visitors are encouraged to plan accordingly and allow extra travel time. Whenever possible, avoid exercise areas. If you must enter active locations, follow the instructions of traffic controllers.

The exercise is designed to evaluate West Point’s ability to respond to a wide range of potential crises. The scenario will involve mass notification procedures, emergency and medical response efforts, evacuation protocols, and casualty care support.

This annual assessment provides an opportunity for West Point leaders, first responders, tenant organizations, and off-post mutual aid partners to review and enhance emergency preparedness measures. The exercise reinforces West Point’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and readiness in response to evolving threats.
