Kevin Acevedo scored all five goals as the Valley Central Vikings were eliminated from the Section 9 Class B tournament by a 9-5 loss to the top-seeded Warwick Wildcats in a rematch of last year’s section final.

The No. 4 Vikings also saw their season end at the Wildcats’ hands in 2021.

Warwick’s Darren Vogt scored three goals and had one assist and Ryan Nevins had two goals and an assist. Matt Sansone also had a goal and an assist. Dan Thorson and Ryan Gonzalez also scored a goal each for the Wildcats.

Max Kruger had two assists. Ryan Sullivan and Michael Accardo had one each. Luke Solari made 10 saves.

Valley Central’s Jack Sherry had two assists, and Gavin Starr and Bryce DeRonda had one each. Cam Prutzman made 10 saves.

The Wildcats advanced to face No. 3 Minisink Valley for the section title.
