The Montgomery Senior Center is sponsoring a Defensive Driving Certification Class on Saturday January 28 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.  This is the course where you can save 10% on your automobile insurance liability coverage or up to 4 points on your driver’s license.

It will take place at the Montgomery Recreation Center,  60 Bachelor Street in the Village of Montgomery (note: not the Senior Center).  Priority will be given to Montgomery residents.  Out of town residents will be put on a waiting list and notified if space is available.

The cost is $25 per person and includes snacks and drinks.  Please stop by the Montgomery Senior Center (36 Bridge Street) or call 845-457-9367 to sign up.  Checks made payable to NYSCHECKMATE DDC are required in advance of the training.

Come meet Montgomery author, Carol Freeman, on Thursday, January 26 from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Senior Center. Carol will be joined by her husband and partner-in-crime, Bill Freeman, with whom she closely collaborates. Together, they will present a lively discussion and share what inspired Carol to become an author when she turned 70. And be prepared to laugh.  Yes, murder mysteries with humor woven throughout. You’ll be treated to a few amusing back stories, as well.

Carol looks forward to answering your questions.  Her books will be available if you wish to purchase any. All of Carol’s books take the reader on a madcap adventure with Ellen and Charlie Green, seventy-year-old amateur sleuths.

Their wild and witty escapades take them from New Paltz , New York (The New Paltz Town Crier: Murder on Main) to Cape Coral, Florida. Carol has recently released her seventh cozy murder mystery: The Cape Coral Cannoli: A Taste of Death. This book begins with the murder of a resident in a gated community in nearby Fort Myers, Florida.  But, no worries!  Ellen and Charlie are called upon to infiltrate this secretive community of eccentric and high-spirited characters.

Carol Freeman’s books are all in paperback and e-book format and can be read in any order.  They are available through amazon.com. The Cape Coral Series: The Cape Coral Caper, The Cape Coral Casanova, The Cape Coral Cameo, The Cape Coral Collector, The Cape Coral Cannoli. Northeast Mysteries: The New Paltz Town Crier, The Baron of Brimfield.
