Dual tattoo/car shop coming to Pine Bush

The old Ford dealership in Crawford is going to be the new home to a tattoo shop and a custom car hobby shop. How? A wall in the middle of the building.

The idea comes from Brian and Ashley Keefer, a pair that has combined knowledge of both tattoos and cars. Ashley is a tattoo artist and current owner of Phoenix Tattoo on Main Street in Walden, and Brian is an iron worker who also specializes in building custom cars, specifically Rat Rods.

“We’re gonna put a wall down the middle and have a tattoo shop on one side and the car shop on the other side with viewing windows through it so it’s really a whole experience,” said Brian.

At a Crawford planning board meeting, Brian explained that their current building, where they have a similar concept, is too small.

“Our building is too small that we have now so we’re just expanding and growing,” Brian added.

The building, located at 2420 Rt. 52 is currently a fully equipped automotive repair shop and is 6,000 square feet. They first approached the planning board in the summer.

Throughout their process, they needed to work on small things; like lighting, parking and signage. They also mentioned to the planning board the work involves replacing garage doors, painting, creating a sign, and obviously, constructing the wall down the center of the building.

As of February 8, after an easy public hearing, their application was approved by the planning board.
