Burn ban imposed due to severe drought

A State of Emergency is hereby declared in the Town of Gardiner, effective at 3 p.m. on August 24, 2022.

The State of Emergency has been declared due to drought conditions, which, according to Supervisor Mary Beth Majestic,  have imperiled the Town's water supply and have increased the risk of wildfires. “Such conditions threaten or imperil the public safety of the citizens of the Town of Gardiner,” she noted. During this time, all outdoor burning in the town is prohibited.

The State of Emergency will remain in effect until 3 p.m. on September 23.
