Gol Mehdi Youssefbaik of Wallkill, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021 in Wallkill. He was 75.

The son of Abdoul Mohammed and Masameh Nadahali, he was born April 28, 1946 in Tehran, Iran.

Medhi was a member of the Iranian Wrestling team and competed internationally with them. At the age of 14 Medhi was given the opportunity to be sponsored by a wrestling family and  come to the United States.
Mehdi graduated from Wilkins Private High School in Melo Park California.

Mehdi graduated from The School of Visual Arts with a BA in Filmmaking.

He worked at different jobs in the industry.

He was the Field Director for “Green Thumb” in NYC. They would build gardens from abandoned lots and beautify the city.
He changed jobs and became the Manager of the “Lot Cleaning Division” for the NYS Dept. of Sanitation. He received the outstanding Employee Award of 1989. He retired in 2008 and moved to Gardiner, New York from NYC.
His passions were Jazz music, Poetry and The study of Mysticism.

He is predeceased by his parents, loving sisters Zahara & Pavin
He is survived by his wife of 20 years Lori Treval Youssefbaik; sons  Darius Youssefbaik

Alexander Youssefbaik Bailey; Daughter-in-law Lucy Bailey and Granddaughter   Grace Bailey

A private Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Gardiner.

A Memorial Service will be held in his honor in Spring 2022 location to be announced
