Hypocrisy at VCSD!

VC promotes zero tolerance for student bullying, but apparently employee bullying and intimidation is okay. For years, one administrator has bullied, intimidated, targeted and retaliated against scores of employees of this district. This has been going on for YEARS! Why it has been tolerated by the Superintendent is beyond me.

This one administrator has now set her sights on a female Director that has been employed at VC for 23 years. This Director established full-day UPK at VC, was responsible for getting over $1.2 million in grants for VC, and works with all district teachers to fulfill NYSED mandated APPR & data collection that gets reported to the state. How is it that after 23 years of loyally and faithfully completing her duties and receiving outstanding evaluations that the Superintendent decides to move to terminate this beloved employee? It is outrageous!

Who is going to fulfill these roles when the VC administration shoots themselves in the foot and terminates her? She has fulfilled some of these roles for the last 10+ years, she has attended hundreds of hours of training on state reporting, APPR, the SchoolTool student management system and running UPK. Good luck VC getting UPK up and running in the Fall! Good luck VC figuring out how to report all the data for state testing, Regents Exams, Alternate Assessment and teacher APPR. Almost 100 people attended the last BOE mtg and over 400 people have signed a petition telling the BOE that terminating this Director is a huge mistake. However, this is only a fraction of the employees who support this Director. The others who did not attend or sign the petition have repeatedly said they are afraid to publicly be seen showing their support for this Director at a BOE meeting or to sign a petition for fear of this administrator targeting them.

There is a climate of fear throughout the entire district all being driven by this ONE administrator! Many, many staff in the District & the community talk in hushed tones about this particular administrator, but everyone is afraid to speak out. Now is the time to take action. Come to the May 23rd BOE meeting and stand up for justice. Not just for this employee but for all VCSD employees!
