Jack Edward Pollard of Wallkill, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was 76. 

The son of the late Jack Pollard and Henrietta (Etta)McLaughlin, he was born July 12, 1945 in Sydney, Canada.

Jack proudly served in combat as a Sergeant in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a dedicated firefighter in FDNY and retired after 30 years of service. After retirement Jack enjoyed volunteering as a driver for Meals on Wheels. He was a volunteer firefighter at the Wallkill Hook and Ladder and a member of the local VFW. Jack was a supporter of AA and helped countless people achieve and maintain their sobriety. 

Survivors include his loving daughters Debbie Pollard & son-in-law Mark Babin of Walden, NY, Kathy Rugar of Wallkill, NY, and Jacqueline McDonough of Wallkill, NY. Three adoring grandchildren whom he loved to the moon and back, Ciara and John McDonough Jr. of Wallkill, NY and Mikey Rugar Jr. of Wallkill, NY; Brothers Gary Pollard (Cathy) of Florida and Philip Pollard (Sandy)of Florida; Aunt Joyce Perrin (Harry) of Canada; Nephew Patrick Loughran (Alia) of Brooklyn, NY; Brother-In-Law Michael Loughran of Brooklyn, NY and several nephews, nieces and cousins.

Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife of 46 years, Jean Pollard, son-in-law Michael Rugar, father and mother-in-law Patrick and Catherine Nugent and sister-in-law Pauline Loughran.

Visitation will be Monday, November 29, 2021, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm, at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St., Walden, NY 12586.

A Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at 11am at St. Charles Borromeo, 2212 Route 44, Gardiner, NY.

The family would like to thank Hudson Valley Hospice, especially JB and Jess for their loving care.
