Jeanette Ebert
Jeanette Ebert of Montgomery peacefully passed away on Wednesday January 2, 2019, after a long illness. She was surrounded by her family.
Jeanette is survived by her husband Jerry, children Leeann and her spouse Jorge Tapia-Ramirez, Michael and his fiancée Dennianne Moore, Janelle and her spouse Baldur Arlt, and Alfie and his girlfriend Sara Sherwood. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Madison, Joseph, Andrew, Genevieve, Judith, Abigal and Mackenna, her mother Barbara Pisano, brothers Mark and Joe, sisters Debbie and Barbara, and many close relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her father Frederick Pisano.
Jeanette was born July 19, 1960 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Newburgh. She graduated near the top of her class at Newburgh Free Academy in 1978, and earned the lead violinist position on the all-county instrumental band. She obtained a Culinary Degree from Johnson and Wales in Rhode Island, and worked in various restaurants.
In the years before her illness, she was a trainer/manager for Stop and Shop, and later, Hannaford Supermarkets.
She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, crocheting, cooking, painting, penny-shopping with her daughters and cousins; and enjoying a good cup of coffee. Several times she won prizes in the village’s annual holiday decorating contest.
She met her husband Jerry on a picket line at a Stewart Airport warehouse. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary this past September, and Jeanette and her relatives organized a huge family gathering.
A celebration of her life was held Monday, January 7, at Brooks Funeral Home.
