Three local police agencies are observing National Night Out next Tuesday, August 2.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer and more caring places to live.

National Night Out also embraces the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community.

The goal of the night is to provide a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

Shawangunk
The Town of Shawangunk Police Benevolent Association (PBA) is sponsoring its second National Night Out at Garrison Park in Wallkill.
The event runs from 4 to 9 p.m. and there is no admission fee.

Among the activities at the National Night Out are bounce houses, food trucks and tables promoting local businesses.

There will also be a dunk tank where local residents have the opportunity to dunk town officials. A DJ will provide music. There will also be demonstrations and displays and a mac and cheese eating contest.

A fireworks display will close the event.

Crawford
The Town of Crawford Police Department National Night Out committee will host their second annual event on August 2 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Crawford Town Park, 19 Red Mills Road in Pine Bush.

The evening will include Touch a Truck, food, raffles, fireworks, and much much more. There will also be music by D.J. Victor Vargas, a Pine Bush graduate.

Town of Wallkill

Town of Wallkill Police will celebrate their 20th Annual National Night Out at the Town’s Little League Park, 99 Little League Way, 6 to 9 p.m.

The family=friendly event offers free food and ice cream, police and fire displays, face painting, prizes, giveaways, games, music and entertainment. The first 800 people in attendance will receive a free T-shirt.
