Missing two-year-old found

On June 29, at approximately 4:49 p.m., Town of Montgomery Police Department responded to a report of 2 year old child who went missing from a residence on Powers Lane in the Town of Montgomery. Police from multiple agencies responded to assist in the search.

At approximately 6:18 p.m., the child was found in a heavily wooded area after being tracked by Middletown K-9 Police Officers Jason Berman and his K-9 Hunter along with Officer Estremera. The child sustained some minor scratchers and was transported to Garnett Health Medical Center for further evaluation by the Town of Montgomery Ambulance Corps.

The Town of Montgomery was assisted in the search by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office as well as their K-9, the New York State Police along with their aviation unit, the Village of Montgomery Police who provided ATV support and as mentioned the City of Middletown Police. Also assisting were the Montgomery, Coldenham, Winona Lake and Walden Fire Depts.

Town police said efforts and cooperation of all involved is greatly appreciated.
